United States Air Force Research Laboratory Awards Phase II SBIR Contract to Mobius Logic.
AI Company will collaborate with the Air Force Autonomy Capability Team to develop tools and systems that identify weaknesses and opportunities within the AI of opponents.
Tysons, VA – December 14, 2022 – Mobius Logic, Inc. a leader in AI and next-generation digital services, announced today that it has been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract with the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RY) Autonomy Capability Team (ACT 3).Mobius Logic will collaborate with ACT 3 to develop tools and systems that identify weaknesses and opportunities within the AI of opponents. As AI-enabled fighters become commonplace worldwide, the United States Air Force must develop methods that can detect flaws and vulnerabilities in an opponent’s AI.Mobius Logic will use its automated MLOps platform, MAKANA, to train ACT3 Counter Autonomy AI agents against adversarial attacks of autonomous systems.MAKANA will automate reinforcement learning of multi-agents/multi-environments that detect and respond to threats and exploit flaws within a combatant's systems.Implementing the countermeasures developed in this project will reduce or mitigate the threat of AI-generated adversarial attacks.“By building counter autonomous machine learning algorithms that exploit vulnerabilities in our adversaries’ AI capabilities, Mobius Logic will empower AFRL/RY to fulfill our national defense mission need in next generation air dominance," said Dr. Corey Schumacher, DR IV, ACT3 Technical Lead for Counter Autonomy. The joint AFRL/RY ACT 3 and Mobius Logic effort is currently underway.Mobius Logic provides AI consulting services and products to military, government, and commercial clients. Beyond military uses for counter autonomy such as weapons platforms, satellites, cyber operations, and/or electronic warfare, Mobius Logic also helps to secure critical U.S. autonomous systems for business operations, logistics, supply, and energy management."As AI becomes ubiquitous in our daily lives, we must continually work to ensure that it is used for common good," said Christian Manasseh, CEO of Mobius Logic.
